Using Lab Results
Healthcare providers use lab results to evaluate the status of an individual's health. The most common lab results for a person living with HIV include viral load, CD4 T-cell count, drug resistance information (phenotype and genotype), and replication capacity (RC). When combined with medical and treatment history, this information can be used to choose a regimen that has the best chance for success. To get a better understanding of your lab results, talk to your healthcare provider about sharing them with you.
