PhenoSense HIV Assay Overview
PhenoSense™ HIV, offered as a single assay or in the combination assay PhenoSense GT™, represents cutting-edge
resistance testing technology, patented by Monogram. PhenoSense HIV is the only resistance test that uses
clinical cutoff values and can measure hypersusceptibility. In addition, the PhenoSense HIV report form makes
resistance data easy to apply to treatment selection, with a fold-change bar graph and drug susceptibility
curve for each drug that demonstrates the performance of a patient's virus next to a drug-susceptible wild-type
reference virus. PhenoSense HIV is a valuable therapy guidance tool, and is the most commonly used phenotypic
HIV drug resistance assay performed today.
PhenoSense HIV features and benefits:
- Direct measurement of drug susceptibility
- Quantitative susceptibility data -- can measure partial susceptibility and hypersusceptibility
- Uses susceptibility cutoffs to determine when the likelihood of response begins to decrease
- Logical, easy-to-read report form
- Accurate results using plasma samples with viral loads as low as 500 HIV RNA copies/mL
- Supplements resistance results with replication capacity information to evaluate viral fitness
